shop. We also give guidance how the new digital
music technologies work and give you the skills
associated with these technologies as used in the
music industry.

WHY
JOIN SMN?
All schools and colleges teach music in the national
curriculum and some students study music as a subject.
Colleges also specialise in music courses such as
BTEC and NCFE. SMN bridges
the gap between schools and the music industry.
SMN is set up to instantly
distribute, market and sell digital music via its
downloadrecords system and stream/share students music
via our intelligent student widget.
We can even offer a route
to release a commercial release 'Chart
Registered' and supply
all the important meta data information required by
industry. (ISRC, UPC codes etc.) The first
Student Music Network
album will soon be available on I-Tunes containing
music form students across the UK.

SMN is aimed at school
and college music departments who want to give students
a little extra and help them see how the digital music
industry works first hand. After all, most students
are downloading music onto their phones and computers,

SMN can advise you on
how to set up your own record label as a school project
and offer label management of material. We can also
offer a visit by one of our experienced industry advisors
who can offer a small workshop on how the music industry
works and how best use our system.

student widget to their computer desk top.
It offers streaming of music, video and news items.

MP3 SALES
Via our download system, sales of student's work
are paid with royalty statements to each college

PROPERTY
All material made available to SMN
remains the work of the student (artists).
We supply advice on issues such as copyright control,
the PRS/MCPS and PPL.
By supplying material to SMN
you can protect it , as a submission to SMN
contains dates and writers information, so in the
event of any 3rd party claim we can provide proof
of origin.
